Honest Review of Ocean Coral Spring Resort in Jamaica

travel May 24, 2023

Ocean Coral Spring Resort in Trelawny, Jamaica, is a member of h10 hotels and offers a luxurious stay for travelers. In this blog post, we will review the resort's sleeping rooms, food, amenities, entertainment, and security, and share our honest opinion about whether it is worth the price.

Arrival and Security

Upon arrival, the security at the gate is on point, and the location feels safe and secluded. Only guests with reservations are allowed into the resort, and there are security guards at every checkpoint to keep everyone safe. The lobby is massive, open, clean, and modern, with a bar area, a place to exchange money, and a place to book any excursions.

Sleeping Rooms

We stayed in a Daisy Suite, which was located directly behind the water park and ideal for families with children. The room had two queen-sized beds, a coffee bar, and a modern bathroom equipped with a stand-in shower, and a garden tub. The room also had a flat-screen TV and a seating area with a pull-out couch that featured some wine and fruit upon arrival. And though I don't really drink, it was still a thoughtful touch.

The room opened up to a balcony overlooking the water park, and we enjoyed our stay overall. However, we recommend bringing sanitizing wipes for high-contact areas such as the remote control and telephone. The hotel staff comes in during the day to tidy up your room, change your sheets, and switch out old towels, which is a plus.

Food and Dining

The resort has several restaurants, including Martha's Market, which serves international cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. La La Conda is an a la carte Italian restaurant, and The Red Snapper is located on the beach and serves Caribbean flavors. Route 66 specializes in American barbecue food, Sugarcane specializes in Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine, and Tali is an Indian restaurant.

We tried Jamaican Grill, where they served jerk chicken, jerk pork, cocoa bread, and more. This was one of our favorites the entire weekend and is a must-try if you like spicy food. Lastly, Sakura is a teppanyaki grill featuring show cooking, and we highly recommend making a reservation because the chefs are entertaining, and the food is excellent.

Entertainment and Amenities

The resort offers several entertainment options, including bowling, showtime premieres, pianos for use, a spa, gym, several pools, the beach, a lazy river with a swim-up bar, and more. The lazy river has a swim-up bar, and we took advantage of it and got ourselves a virgin pina colada.

The beach is also lovely, with beach chairs and umbrellas for use. However, one of our complaints is that the hammocks were soiled with dirty water and should be cleaned and changed out more frequently. There is also a boardwalk overlooking the ocean with great photo opportunities.

Conclusion

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Ocean Coral Spring Resort in Jamaica and felt it was well worth the price. This is a very family-friendly resort, but if you're looking for a romantic getaway with just you and your spouse, check out the adults-only side of the property, which is Eden Bay, located within short walking distance of where we stayed.

If you're interested in traveling to Jamaica soon and considering this resort, we hope this review has been helpful. Remember to take advantage of the room service option, which lasts all the way up until 6 pm and offers several options such as burgers, pizza, fries, fruit, and more. Don't forget to stop and get some ice cream at the ice cream shop and try out all the different restaurants. We hope you have a wonderful stay at Ocean Coral Spring Resort!
